This is my first message so forgive me if It seems a daft subject.
This a plea from the heart, please, please, please will TV & home gardeners think of your neighbours before extolling the virtues of planting Ivy.
My neighbour decided that they wanted privacy so they planted Ivy down both sides of their garden. They now have their privacy but what I have ended up with is one side of my garden which gets no sun, a great deal of work trying to keep the Ivy under control, which I can't always manage as I have severe arthritis and the addition cost of extra equipment & plants that grow in the shade.
I know I could complain to my neighbours which may cause bad feeling, but I can't help thinking if they had asked before.............
Hi Beff
Not daft at all, and you may have given the new gardeners amongst us food for thought when designing their planting plans... Thanks.
We look forward to seeing you around...
Margi x
Why don't you discuss it with your neighbours? They might be willing to lend a helping hand trimming your side of their Ivy...

Well done Margi!
Hi Jonah
Sorry - not a good idea to quote the offensive message!!! Thanks for your support...
Sorry Margi,
Wouldn't usually, but I thought the first poster being new to the boards wouldn't have understood what I was talking about.
I must have been typing at the same time as you, as your one wasn't there when I started, maybe I'm just a bit slow!
As long as we're all singing from the same hymnsheet, Jonah, there's no problem! I probably typed at the speed of light because I was angry that a new poster with a genuine problem should get trolled... Grrr!
Have a good evening,
Margi x
