Try and think if you had 1 hour to cover the large subject of gardening, it isn't easy. I myself like growing veg but my wife loves growing flowers, so some times I get a good prog sometimes her. I think that considering the amount of time the program has it covers alot of subjects, it can't spend to long on a single subject and anyway what alterative program do we have. Yes I would love one devoted to veg. I say lets have more episodes hen they can split the subject matter.

I quite agree! I think they do a pretty good job all things considered. And YES let's have more of their specials, maybe Pippa Greenwood on organic, veggie growing,or pests. Or Anne Swithinbank on house plants (some people don't even HAVE gardens). What about Roy Lancaster on a plant finding expedition? Some specialist programme about Botany, Bio diversity. Anything really but more! Gardeners are a pretty huge proportion of the viewing public - let's get more demanding, but in a polite, British sort of way....

I did enjoy GW last night, although I did gasp "How much" at the herb lawn cost. Couldn't it be done much cheaper with seeds, but then, we would have to wait longer to see the effect. I had the feeling that were trying very hard to please, with references about e-mails and letters. Perhaps they could mention us next week, as we have such a wide range of experience amongst us, also, people like me that love being in the garden but have so much to learn. I missed bits and pieces as I was toasting hot cross buns, so am very glad that I recorded it.

It's tricky finding subjects that will interest newcomers to gardening without boring those who are more experienced.
    At least they try!

Hi Tarka....the first GW of this season, showed someone dividing a rudbekia (10 minutes),then a long shot of Sarah pushing a wheelbarrow, and quarter of an hour later, Carol asked Joe to help her divide a clump of grasses.(10 minutes). Then another long shot of,this time, Carol pushing a wheelbarrow.
I presume it is the producer who sets out the schedule...ye gods...what he straight from school.
GW has become presenter led. What is wrong with one camera and a voice off.Cheaper and show more, learn more.
