Out of all the boards on this formum this is the only one where people are downright nasty - you all know who you are.

Just continue with your heads firmly up your backsides.

No one is allowed anopinion if it dares critiscise your 'heros' . Thank goodness you are not representatives of the people on these boards as a whole!

And you are the nastiest of them all!!!! It's nothing to do with having an opinion or critiscising 'heroes' as you put it. It's your sarcastic, know-it-all manner that upsets people. As I have said before, think when you're replying and don't talk down to people. This isn't the first time you've upset posters on this board and it probably won't be the last, unfortunately.

By these remarks you have upset more people than you realise. You must enjoy drinking lemon juice and vinegar to make you so vitriolic. <quote user='PolyAnthus2' userid='2333071'></quote>

Is it not a good thing Dee, that there are contradictory views being expressed on the Board? I know that over the years I've never ever become bitter about any views that are completely opposite to my own (and there's been plenty). I confess that I do get completely cheesed off with the occasional 'wreckers' that are allowed to post their nonsense (but the blame for these irritations rest with the Mods). It's also perfectly natural to change our opinions over time. I have been very critical about the amount of time spent on 'design' on TV in the past, but have moderated my extreme opinions after discussion with a few fellow posters who are actually involved with the design side of gardening. I honestly don't know what posters are getting up your nose just now, but (assuming I'm not one of them) I would suggest that there are very few people who deliberately set out to offend fellow gardeners. I just loathe references to whether a Presenter is 'sexy' or not (it just doesn't matter) - but I didn't offend any sensibilities by wading into that particular thread. Many times in the past, I questioned the reasons as to why Rachel de Thame was a presenter, when there were clearly so many other more experienced gardeners that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ could have employed. She's an attractive woman, and also seems like a really nice person - but this is nothing at all to do with whether she is the right person for the job. Let me try and ingratiate myself to you, by declaring that I nearly always enjoy your postings, but this simply makes this current posting all the more curious. It's really not right to say "you all know who you are", when this honestly may not be the case. We must all accept that people will have differing opinions, and, if we're honest, we express them on this Board in the hope that it will have some influence on the program makers. On that note, I suppose I'd better reiterate that I am enjoying the start to the current series of GW very much, and hope that the current standard is maintained throughout the gardening year.

Some "flowery people" can't seem to stop themselves being personally nasty to other posters, just because they have the temerity to disagree with their opinions.
If their onions were as big as their egos they'd win prizes in any show !!

Yes yes - but who are we talking about. I honestly don't see anything on the board which could cause such obvious offense - or am I just not looking closely enough. Is it not refreshing to have a frank exchange of views and preferences? If we were all to start singing out of the same hymn-sheet, it really would be a dreary affair - and after all, it is almost impossible to disagree with the same person on every gardening issue (isn't it?).

What is this all about? I read this board almost every day,and really don't know what you are referring to. There are heated discussions from time to time, which is what this board is all about, but they never seem to be nasty,to cause these sort of remarks from you and Polyanthus. May be you have taken exception to remarks that have been made quite innocently. We are all entitled to our opinions, don't you think?

Yes it's all got a bit out of hand hasn't it?.
The trouble is we are all different and some people are able to shrug things off whereas others really take it to heart. Hope Dee is still around for advice.
