GW please be aware that the use of washing up water from the sink, and i presume you mean the kitchen sink, (unless you sieve it repeatedly) will contain small particals of food debris.
Repeated use of this water on the garden will encourage rats! Stick to water from washing machine, and shower is safest. please advice viewers.
Thanks, I regualarly pour my washing water out and you are right, it is good to be careful at the end (like looking for tea leaves in a mug in the "old days"). Still a great way to reuse an awful lot of water. My other job is to try and tap up my washing machine out pipe now - especially as I often do not use chemicals in that at all! hifi
Great idea. Actually have you seen those oxygen balls as an alternative to washing machine powders or liquids.
The wash is then done with no detergents of any kind.
Have a look at www.evengreener.com code POWWSHBL
i have not got round to buying any just yet, but i have seen them on other eco sites for nearly £40 so this seems like a bargain at £5!
I used to use some wash balls from QVC and found they worked very well for not so dirty washing, ie things that just needed freshening up rather than washing like bedding and towels but with 2 small children they couldn't cope with grass stains, mud and food stains!
