I imagine that Monty's garden was flooded - any news? I'd love to know how he coped with that. Hasn't he got a farm on the Welsh borders as well? I'm sure that Monty fans can fill in the details. Thanks.
His garden was flooded and ruined. He popped up on here and says he's going to see it as an opportunity to revamp and chnage the layout and planting.
I don't suppose he'll want camera teams intruding on his privacy but he I hope he'll do some features on future GW's to help others who were flooded and maybe there'll be a book about his own garden later.
Thanks Obelixx. I agree that his garden is his private domain and we shouldn't expect him to 'share' the experience with us all on tv.
I am going to send him some seeds c/o the bbc! That might be a nice surprise!. I have some spare plants he might like - hostas etc?
Where did he "pop up" on here?

I'd rather not talk about monty popping up that time actually...
RDF
He 'popped up' trying to flog his new book to us.
Not a very nice episode in the life of the message board...best left alone.
Mycowaz.
P.S. Dezza glad to see your back from the smoke. Warrior Spirit!!!
This is where Monty said his garden was flooded - Most of us were pleased he sees it as a gardening opportunity rather than a complete disaster and wish him well for the restoration.
Monty writes about his flooded garden in the September edition of GW magazine, page 34.

Ha Ha! Hi Dave, what can I say, if I'm winding you up...job done!
Mycowaz.
the old ones were the best ones....
Blimey Dezza....where did you drag this old chestnut up from!?
I guess there's no danger of Mony's garden flooding these day's.
Does he still present that alwful Gardeners World programme? I thought they put Brian Harvey in charge...no?
Mx
P.S. Hiya Dave K! Were back!!
Warrior Spirit Mycowaz!
No, as far as I am aware, Monty never returned. Brian Harvey is I think on the TV programme "the voice". A crowd of hooting urangooootangs (sp.. or maybe not) judge the emotional tremors in Brian's eyes as he listens to a perpetually deluded unemployed no hoper gargle his way through a miserable dirge that no one who no longer gets pocket money could ever like. These poor souls, with but a crouton's worth of talent in the great oxtail soup coloured sea of life, are derided or exploited.
I am surprised at Brian. I thought he was a better man than that. He did after all run over his own head. He's not fit to sniff the inside of Montys moccasins

Warrior Spirit Dezza!
I believe Brian may have found God, he released an album of gospel songs last year!!
Maybe when he ran over his own head he had a 'spiritual' moment as well as a crushing one!
??
Warrior Spirit Mycowaz!
I believe that this is true. Brian began finding inspiration for his horticulture in the pages of the good book. For, in John 4 - 7-16 did not the blind man ask Jesus about pruning his Hebe? And did Jesus not reply with "why doest thou perservere with that miserable car park shrub? for verily I say unto thou, there's miles better stuff than that down Dobbies. Amen"
Brian got right into this... but hang on... didn't we once have a thread about who would be the best gardener out of all the different gods?
Derek Pig
I thought I knew the good book from start to finish, must have missed that one!
....although I am more of a follower of 'Kettleyanity' a combination of ideas and themes from both the great religions Islam and Christiananity combined to form the definitive ideaology to live by.
Whats wrong with Hebe's anyways??
Ever Vigilent Mycowaz!
from the Book of Brian we read that he that has wisdom will know then ame of the beast for it a name of a plant and that number shall be H.E.B.E.
I'll get looking for that thread- I'm sure we had gardening ion Hell or something- and would Buddha garden better than Vishnu. Hang on fella.
By the way- havent seen you since the Mob gig at Brixton Jamm. Sorry i was sick.

Derek Pig
Yeah your right I do remember something along those lines...although im sure the thread got shut down before we could get to some interesting horticultural theology.
Gosh...are Hebes really the Devils doing??
Hello Bad Boys. Here's one for you -
Hey Obs!! Have you missed us
Mx
Hey Obs- how you doing? Hope the back op went well!
you might be interested to know that me and Mycowaz met up last november to see the mob at Brixton Jamm (Gartenmeister wasn't able to make it- but came to see Steve Ignorant from Crass with us at Hammersmith the next night) ... so we're still rocking on.
I hope you are enjoying life and pass on our best wishes to Rhoda- i do look at her blog every now and then

Hi Dezza
Rhoda no longer posts here but sends her love and all that xxxxx
She did acknowledge you on her blog for a while as being the person who coined "The Sea of Immeasurable Gravy" name for it - but when people started admiring the imagination behind the name she deleted reference to you and accepted all the kudos for herself. But what can you expect from a Sock?
Alma xx
Hi Alma
only a few people call me Dezza you know..... so thanks for the message and do tell Rhoda she's very welcome to own any of my trite and petulent put downs.
Boomshanker!
Dezza. xx
