Toby asked about keeping mice at bay from peas on tonight’s Gardeners World. I soak my seeds in parrafin for a few seconds then dry off in kitchen paper just before I sow them. I've done this for a couple of years now when sowing mangetout and I've never had a 'nibble'. The strong smell seems to mask the pea scent. Hope this is of use!!
I'VE tried this also with success. It seems the mice can sense the smell given off by the germinating peas (try leaving some peas in a jar for a few days with a lid on!) The paraffin disguises this aroma.
Glad you find it useful too! Paraffin does stink mind, so it's hardly suprising!! lol
