Hi y'all
On Beechgrove last night there was a garden (app 12 minutes into the prog) by Borders College. It was called the "Off The Wall Garden" and had a beautiful wall of lilac flowers on the bottom half, and what looked like the same plant in red, at the top. Does anyone know what these plants were??
On a different subject, having only recently come into the 21st century (ie changed over from a video to Sky Plus), I didn’t realise that when a series changes channel, the ‘gismo’ doesn’t recognise it as being part of a ‘series’. I found out when I missed the first couple of Chelsea programmes on ´óÏó´«Ã½2. However, having had to fish around for Beechgroove a couple of days ago (as it was changed to ´óÏó´«Ã½1 Scotland,) I discovered that ‘Open Gardens’ was on this week. I know they were repeats, and I thought I’d seen all of the repeats, but I haven’t seen this lot. Would I be right in saying others may have missed this also?? I know it’s shown in the TV mags – but who’s got time to read those at this time of the year??
Hi Happytobyfan
Regarding the red flowers, looks like no one knows. Maybe you should contact Borders College and ask them? Their contact email is enquiries@borderscollege.ac.uk and on their website it says the garden was created by Nigel Gibb from the Landbased department.
Good luck!
Cheers Daffs4Feb, thanks a lot for that. I had wondered whether there was anyone else I could ask. I'll do as you suggest, and thanks again
Hi again Daffs4Feb
I did as you suggested, and e-mailed Nigel Gibb. He replied the following day, with a full list of the plants he used - with the 2 I asked about highlighted.
I then got another really nice one from him yesterday.
Thanks again for your help.
