I was quite surprised that Calendula was chosen as the flower in the slug damage trial at Sparsholt College, in my experience the slugs are not very fond of this species, I would have used Tagetes.
Why targets? Do they taste bad to them? I thought Marigolds had the same effect but have been told otherwise. My friend who followed this advice has on the other hand had hardly any snails at all.
