Have just read this from a Horticulture Week circular.
I do welcome the news but I saw him do a gardening slot on his afternoon chat show and I do hope it's not going to be anything like that.
It won't be Gardeners' World so I wonder what is planned
Any ideas anyone?

Titchmarsh added: "I’m coming back on the box doing gardening you’ll be horrified to know. There will be an announcement in the next couple of weeks."
Commenting on the dropping of industry favourites Toby Buckland and Alys Fowler in favour of Monty Don and Rachel de Thame in a quest to drive up Gardeners' World viewing figures from under 2m, Alan Titchmarsh said:
"You have to be realistic. TV is so different now even from when I was doing Gardeners’ World. There were only four channels and we got 5m viewers. No one is going to get that now except maybe Downton Abbey."

I had a couple of copies the other day with various show literature.
It will be good to have another gardening programme on the TV and I am sure it will be very watch able.
Also a very diplomatic answer about the replacements on GW

I am so glad AT's going back to gardening. Although he writes a good book, I'm afraid I never did think much of his chat show. Gardening is what he does best and I'm really looking forward to it. It's just a shame it's on ITV though, I hate adverts - Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!

Interesting times ahead! I couldn't hazard a guess on the content but it's good to see another gardening programme on TV at last!!
Alan has been my favourite gardening presenter since he first took over GW, and he still is. I have met him a couple of times and know many people in broadcasting who have had the opportunity to work with him, and they have nothing but good to say. I can't imagine his programme would be anything but professional.
I also like Monty's presenting style and enjoy the subjects he covers and his other programmes. GW coming from his own garden will be good to see.
I shall be watching both programmes - roll on March!!

Have I missed it? It's now April and I've not seen anything about a new programme with AT - any news anyone?

It is NOT going to be just a gardening programme - it is being trailed as LIFESTYLE with a gardening element. As it's ITV, who knows what that means, probably an extension to his daytime programme, which apparently is very popular. No transmission date has been advertised as yet.

i know that he was planning on finding some unusual gardens in the backs of ordinary houses becasue one of the people at work was asked about it. that sounded like a good idea to em, i'd find it interesting anyway. my garden is rubbish, so unless he's doing a programme on ordinary houses with rubbish gardens, dont expect to see me on teely anytime soon.
