I'm not sure what was on that particular week but all I know is I have had to give the programme a miss for a very long time.
However, I have started watching again as the new series seems to be an improvement so far and is much more about the garden and not the presenter. As long as they keep a certain chap off the programme, I know I shall start to enjoy it again.
Gardeners' World 2011 should actually be named 'The Monty Don Show'. Whatever the good or bad points about last years show it had a variety of gardeners actually in the garden. This year all we have had is Monty Don going on about how it is "his" garden - we are not stupid, we know this fact. Are we eventually going to see Carol, Joe or Rachel being allowed to dig in his sacred soil - I think not.
I agree. We must definitely see more of the others.
Someone on another messageboard actually called Carol the 'woman with the dirty fingernails' ! This makes her the best actual gardener in my book. What is it about soil that once it gets on it is really hard to shift! I find it a heck of a job to keep my fingernails clean and sometimes go out having had only a hand wash, without the scouring, and notice, too late, that I have less than lovely nails!
Apparently, digging your nails into a bar of soap before you start gardening, is a big help ( according to Toby Buckland).I wouldn't know cos I bite my nails...
Thanks for that, Lowena. That rings a bell. I think I used to know that!
Now stop biting those nails - I shall get out the bitter aloes!

I have heard that making bread and kneeding the dough is one of the best nail cleaning methods out there..........
As for Carol well they are the hands of a true gardener .....
Thanks for that, Lowena. That rings a bell. I think I used to know that!
