wouldnt it be a good thing ifeveryone with positive messages about bbc gardening could just paste them onto a thread on the board that meant that a lot of the negative comments didnt have to be read?
lets start a thread and see if we can make it to 100 about good things the bbc provides for its gardeing viewers
i will start at the beginning with the fantastic legacy of the previous gardeners the bbc has helped to introduce to the public- geoff hamilton and alan titchmarsh for starters.
as a young landscaper titchmarshs groundforce programme used to bring a lot of work in and i am forever greatful for that
so thanks for the history bbc- thats one positive post to start with..

Hi Clearence, sorry i cant understand what you are trying to say- bit late ona friday night eh? wink wink
bbc gardeners world brings peo[ple of all different walks of life together from high brow intellectuals to, clearly, people better suited to trolley pushing in the asda car park in otley.
three more cheers and a big fat "huzzah" to the bbc- catering for ALL the peoples tastes- its what makes bbc gardeniong the best

"as a young landscaper titchmarshs groundforce programme used to bring a lot of work in and i am forever greatful for that"
Your positivity is clearly related to your personal profit.
The rest of us, who fund the beeb, perhaps praise it genuinely when it's worthy of our praise.

Hi there Artemish- weird point to make, not QUITE Socratic method...
there are of course many reasons to be delighted at the ´óÏó´«Ã½s gardening coverage which is the point of this positive thread. one of mine is that it introduced me to christopher lloyd and roy lancaster and i have to agree, i personally profited a lot from seeing them first on the bbc and eventually meeting them both.
titchmarsh is often self depricating about his blue fences but the bank of joseph shakes was certainly funded by the interest that the bbc programmes generated in garden makeovers.
it is a bit puritanical to sugest that you, as a licence payer, as i am, have a purer or more worthy motive. i doubt you do. you should just enjoy it and if you dont then go and sniff some peas instead.
get out and enjoy your garden
so THANKS to the bbc i met two of the greatest plantsmen of the last half century- TOP MARKS ´óÏó´«Ã½!!

I'm enjoying this series of Gardeners World sooooo much more than last year or the year before. Thanks for listening Beeb.
Seeing Monty in his garden and Carol in hers, is so inspiring and I've learned something new or thought "I must try that" every week so far.
I'm loving Carol's parts of the programme and tried taking some basal cuttings for the first time last week!!

Carol hasn't been in her garden in this series :/

Wakey Wakey Lowena. She was in her own garden the other week planting shade loving plants in a new bed she's made and inspired by her local hedgerows.
