Why on earth can't we have this, and Beechgrove on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ in England? There is enough rubbish repeated ad nauseum, so they can't say they haven't the room or the time. 2 Pints of Lager ( which has gone down hill dreadfully) is repeated at least 4 times per episode. Don't tell me to watch via the computer - I hate watching programmes online, it isn't the same at all!!!! Come on ´óÏó´«Ã½ - at least put them on ´óÏó´«Ã½ 2 or 3......and.....how about repeating GW?

Cant see any argument against that post, also I have a handheld device and have no way of using bloody i player it just lazy broadcasting by the ´óÏó´«Ã½ and assumes we all have broadband....
Sadly I think Beechgrove clashes with Get Up And Grow....

Must have caused a worrying moment in ´óÏó´«Ã½ NI when they proposed a 'bog job' for the 1st episode...

Those with Virgin TV (fibre-optic cable TV media) can watch ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland anywhere in the UK on channel 862 for the Beechgrove Gardens series and you can watch Get Up and Grow ´óÏó´«Ã½ NI on channel 863. Press yellow button to record the whole series for both. HTH some more of you access these shows.

But most of us are stuck with Freeview ( no cable down here, and can't get a satellite signal cos of trees and hills) surely they could find room and time on ´óÏó´«Ã½3, it's mostly repeats anyway

Watched this on the iplayer - not seen the last series. i'll keep watching.
It was intresting and I like the interaction between the presenters, which I feel is lacking now from GW.
I would like to have had a a few comments on the costs because that was a lot of work in a large garden and would have cost a furtune, personnel I'd have painted that BBQ shed a more subtle colour.

I too watched this and kept thinking how much is this costing and who paid-this was much more than a ground force quick-fix but a major garden redesign involving many people plants and materials running surely into a few thousand pounds- having not watched previous programmes I guess this lady had already had her front garden done- who is she and what did she have to do to get all this work done?
It was a good watch however but the title "get up and grow" belies the content- "get up and get the bbc in" would be a better title!

The clues are in the dialogue. She rejected one solution for her driveway as too expensive so clearly the garden owner is paying towards costs of materials.
I don't think that's what matters though. In the last series we saw her boring flat frontage transformed into something of beauty and year round interest. Now they've done the same with her back garden and in such a way that the planning and design are explained and the planting and training of plants is shown, and explained.
Loads of useful info and ideas for anyone to adapt for their own garden.

I gave up on this when the wine drinking and shrieking laughter became irratating to my ears, thought the programme was dated in what it does and I agree the name of the show is not what is in the tin.

So she gets her front and back garden made-over and the cost factor you dont think matters as far as I could see all the plants were full- grown specimens and those alone would cost a fortune -everything was instant gardening-so how you think the ordinary gardener related to this programme is beyond me and she admitted at the start that all she did was a bit of weeding- I am just saying did this make anyone" get up and grow"

She has become someone who knew nothing to a woman who can find herslef pottering in her garden for hours. If you and PPP would just take off your blinkers for a minute there was plenty to inspire.
I can't afford to throw money at my garden but, when I do get my shed one day I will know how to integrate it into the garden so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb and can, if I feel sufficiently foresighted, already start buying or propagating small plants to grow on in readiness.
Many people have a boring wall speartaing them from their neighbours or a garage or a bare house wall. Now they've been shown how to cover it with a wide selection climbers using just a few screws and some taut wires instead of expensive trellis.
I suspect she gets to fund some/most or all of the spending on plants and materials and theyget her garden as a guinea pig to show how to go about transforming a waste of space into a delight. It seems a fair exchange to me and, as I said, is the least important part of the show.
What I like are the ideas, the execution, the plants and all the tips along the way. Open your minds and learn and enjoy.

Gosh this seems to have got you riled- I was not knocking the content of the programme just the cost and who paid - your suspicions are not based on any fact are they??- remember it is the licence payer who funds the bbc.

Patronizing or what?

No. i can't say any more about the funding than what I've already said.
I still don't see that it matters much either. It's probably far cheaper than, say, an episode of The Apprentice and a lot more fun and pleasing to see plants and gardeners and landscapers havig fun and producing good reults than a lot of ill mannered oiks trying to make money and do each other down

I have got no real problem with the show just not what I expected from the title of the show,as for the funding well I think it.s like you say and that's not a problem for me..
You can buy some good trellis from poundland by the way...

Some of the gardens last year did feature fruit and veg as well as ornamentals so maybe they'll get to those or more like them in the remaining programmes.
