The ´óÏó´«Ã½ has announced that the perennial favourite, Chris Beardshaw, will be presenting a new programme. "APPLES: BRITISH TO THE CORE". It is uncertain whether it is a one-off episode or a series. Here's the offical ´óÏó´«Ã½ Press Office release:
Wednesday 15 June
9.00-9.30pm ´óÏó´«Ã½ FOUR
Garden designer and presenter Chris Beardshaw looks at how Britain has helped to shape the apple, and explores the history of our favourite varieties in Apples – British To The Core.
Chris visits a piece of living history – the original Bramley apple tree from which every Bramley apple ever eaten has come from – and goes in search of some lost varieties.
He also finds out what drove Victorian horticulturalists to create more varieties of apple than anywhere else in the world, and uncovers the amazing work of British scientists who have unlocked the apple's deepest secrets and helped make it a mass market success.

Great- I have always loved his previous programmes. The winter garden programme he did a few years ago was brilliant. Very underated.

If the program is on at 9pm on a Wednesday, on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Four, then it's one of the forthcoming ´óÏó´«Ã½ Four Botany series.
The program showing on the previous Wednesday is this one:

It was broadcast on Wednesday 19 June - and VERY GOOD (informative and witty) it was too.
If only Beardshaw could be enticed (with a handful of cash...) back to "full-time" gardening telly...
