'Young Gardener of the Year' programme on ´óÏó´«Ã½3 (Freeview 7) 8pm tonight.
Surely this programme should be promoted on the homepage, what has happened to our host?
I watched this this evening and it made me cringe - an awful 'Masterchef' type format. And the female judge contradicted herself several times. However the young people were impressive and I did think the best man won!
Yeah, made me cringe too.
The part where they asked the gardeners to create something in a short space of time seemed really pointless to me !
It was similar to the Gardeners world slot where Toby made something in 30 minutes, that made me cringe too !
Very talented young gardeners though.

I should have realised when it was on ´óÏó´«Ã½3 that it was going to be all drama and no substance. I do agree they were all talented and hopefully we will see them again.
I think the best man won here. I think Jamie was too young for the competition. There's a lot to be said for experience and this will be one of them. Watch this space.
Both John and his father Peter (who is very well respected as a plantsman) have given talks at our garden club down here in Shrewsbury.
John's passion shines through especially for Crocosmia.
´óÏó´«Ã½3 is not part of ´óÏó´«Ã½ gardening so it won't get reported as the channels don't communicate! ´óÏó´«Ã½ Gardening will be unaware of it!
Well Ladies and Gentleman, you did better than I managed. After six minutes of zoomy camera work, loud & crashing 'music', the inevitable tears and the over-use of that word 'passion', I had to turn the thing off. And what's all this talking into my fireplace instead of towards me? Oh of course, arty. Nope, full of gimmicks and not my cup of tea at all.

Didn't watch it-did anyone go on a journey, was being a gardener all they ever wanted and a lifelong dream, and did any have any deceased relatives that were watching down on them?
I do hope so
The young gardeners were great. In fact, they were the only thing in the programme which was any good. It was the programme format which was rubbish (IMHO)
I didnt hear the "J" word mentioned thank goodness !
