Thought I'd start a Goodbye to these boards thread
I have both lurked and posted on here for many years, and under several names. I always enjoyed the banter, opinions, and cameraderie. Yes, I have had my moments of vitriol been shouted at and, especially when GW was going through bad patches, been irate
I will miss these boards - even the sanctimonious posters who are up themselves ( sorry, couldn't resist that ) but look forward to bumping into fellow posters on other gardening boards.
So...... it's Goodbye from ME......and Goodbye from the Boards ( yes, I am old enough to remember the 2 rs )
Hope GW continues in the same vein as the last 2 programmes, and if it does, it won't go far wrong ( even with Monty Dull at the helm )
Not goodbye -just au revoir-as one door closes another opens-can't think of any more cliches
The tv board has always seemed to be the place to let of steam and bring out the dark side in people -very entertaining but sometimes not very pleasant.
I doubt that a tv presenter would ever want to read the stuff that was put out on here at times-which is probably why only one ever ventured-never returned though.
Anyway one of the posters got a mention last week which I do not recall before-so someone read them- probably-Toby and Alys in the back office
bye-bye.
Already posted on the 'Thanks' thread on 'Grow Your Own' and the 'Farewell' thread on 'Garden Inspiration'.
I was too scared to post on this TV & Radio board very often , even though I was strangely addicted to reading it
Will miss the other three boards, but don't think I'll miss this one

I certainly won't miss those posters who as you said were sanctimonious and up them selves.
i will miss the Grow your own board but not this one

What is it about this particular board that makes people so critical, even about the people that post on this board - "sanctimonious and up themselves" - even at the eleventh hour?
It's simply because it invites people to have an opinion on programmes and presenters I think..
And of course that brings out some of the bullies just sitting on the sofa with a notepad to record what they Don't Like!
If we had more progs the opinions would be a bit diluted I expect.
It looks like it is goodbyee to GW next Friday 04 May, as it has been snookered! Once again the UK's gardening enthusiasts are let down. I am glad OH is old enough to have a free TV licence as we both object to paying for nowt.
Thank you to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ for the measly crumbs of gardening we have been occasionally thrown. Thank you to all the messageboarders for their contributions, whether destructive or constructive: they have entertained over all these years. (I am an old poster from the early years, as well as in age).
May all your gardens bloom and your produce be bountiful.
May we all meet again where the grass is greener.
Regards, Yakkers
