I have a dwarf apple tree in my garden. We planted it two years ago and last year got no fruit. This year we have about 20 apples (having lost some to the squirrel and weather). I think that on the one tree there was grafted three types of apple for self pollentation (but I cant get as its dark).
I dont want to lose any to lack of knowlege but how do I know when to pick them???
Thank you!

Saara - A good tip to know when apples are ripe & ready to pick, is to cup them in your hand, give them a gentle twist and a gentle tug at the same time.
If you need to use any force, leave them a little longer.

Lift the apple in your palm gently upwards if it comes away without pulling it its ready if not leave it.
