This year I`ve had no luck with my normal courgettes but the yellow ones have been fruiting all summer - normally they`re considerably less prolific than the green ones.
Same goes for tomatoes - the yellow varieties are in abundance, but the red ones have barely begun to fruit as yet
    Most peculiar.

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me??

I did not grow any thing that was yellow this year apart from my sweet corn, but a friend on the allotments did say that his yellow courgettes had gone mad this year and to be fair the new kind I did grow (all green bush) did so well I pulled three of the plants up to make room for other crops as we had six courgettes altogether we still had more than we needed.

    Whatsthemarrow...

Yes, the same happened to me. The green courgettes have been much less prolific than before, whereas the yellow ones did extremely well. In fact I have been growing two types of yellow ones, and the absolute best (both in terms of yield and taste), is a variety I sowed for first the first time this year called "zuccotto friulano". Really super. I've bought my seeds in a market in Italy, but I believe they are sold in the UK as well.
I thought this difference in performance was strange, as I have treated all plants the same, and I thought the different types would not have been really that different in terms of what they need, but there you go, it seems they might actually be somewhat different.
Then again, one of my neighbours grows (green) marrows, and he has had incredible success this year. Who knows.

I had the opposite experience my yellow didn't produce much and succumbed very quickly and the green ones not long after to mosaic virus, previously I've done OK with both and I didn't do anything different this year.
