    Hello

I am new at growing my own, got an allotment late last summer & planted some broad beans, purple sprouting broccoli, onions, garlic & cabbages to overwinter.

I am worried about the broad beans which are about 6 inches high but some are wilting and have dead leaves at the bottom...I have not supported them yet or covered at all with netting or fleece.

Also should I cover my other plants with fleece during this cold snap?

    Many thanks for any advice!!!!

The plants you have listed are "thought to be" (how's that for a weasle phrase) ? Frost hardy, but it wouldn't be doing any harm if you did cover them. Remember, there aint much sun this time of year so be prepared to uncover, cover, uncover, cover. Well, you get the picture. ! Cheers, Tony.
