Hi
Is it too late to put compost/manure on my veg patch?
Many thanks
Kip
Never too late. If it is well rotted. if fresh, I'de leave it to rot down untill it has lost 'that interesting odour'.
If it is really fresh, why not try a 'hot bed'? Cheers,. Tony.
Hi Kipling, I never put manure and garden compost on until February as I've got sandy soil and it will all disappear into middle earth in no time at all. I'm sure that whatever soil you have ,putting stuff on this month will be fine. I'm biding my time until this frosty cold weather has gone though.

Great thanks
The old rule used to be 'Manure in Spring to warm the soil and mulch in Autumn to keep the heat.' Still holds good I reckon.
