Hi,
I have been wanting to try to grow some of this from seed for a while, but have found little on the racks in G/centres.
However I have found and purchased some from a small online company.
Well they have arrived in small pkts with no instruction, so I wondered if anyone had any advice on how to start them off. Propagator, Cold G/H, Cold Frame, Outside ?
I have the following
Carex Red Rooster
Festuca Glauca
Melica Red spire
Phormium tenax purpureum
Stipa bridal veil
thanks
Why not telephone or email the company you bought them from?
I planted seeds taken from a grass that i had bought as a plant. It is called selerias cerauleum(or something like that)
I put the seeds in pots in the greenhouse and over win ter they have grown about 8 inch I got the im pression they wld be easy to grow anywhere so suggest you just plant yours in pots keep warm for a few weeks and u slhouldnt have a problem. I am giving everyone I know the plants now as I certainly cant house them all. I like this grass as it doesnt grow too tall and has pretty seed heads.

I like to grow plants from seed but have discovered that seeds that are difficult to obtain are difficult to grow, some require stratification, others need 90 days etc.
My apple seeds have just germinated after 4 months outside. I thought grass seeds were similar.
Sorry to not be more helpful.
I am not a grass grower as such but this RHS link might help!
