p.s very big shame this is closing down got a lot of advice of heya as it only my second year growing stuff and a big thank you to every one who has helped me.
Not sure of your location, but, me personally, would hold them horses. I still think its a bit early but I live on the north sea coast.
Btw, alot of us are using the Gardeners' World ( ´óÏó´«Ã½) forum. Get yourself signed up !!!
Im in the north east i live in a little village so rural as well.
Ill check that forum out in a bit been looking at a few but not as good as this one. many thanks
Am I being daft? I can't find a Gardeners' World Forum. On the GW page there's a link to this forum (very helpful!) and a GW blog (which is also about to close down), but not a forum. Am I missing something?
You will need to harden anything off that has grown in a greenhouse- even a cold one -some-things dont need a greenhouse to get started and can be sown direct into the garden.
From you list the only frost tender one is runner beans in my opinion you should be sowing these about now -if you have plants then you are one month or so too early- sorry
The brassicas, leeks, lettuce should be ok outside soon- but harden off first.
This is where so many of us have landed
it is a shame about theses boards-but that one is just as good and there are a lot of familiar names.
Aha, right, I see. There is no mention of this forum on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Gardeners' World page - they're not helping us much, are they? But I will check this one out.

This map might give you some idea;
The numbers in the grid are when I (with the help of others) have calculated when the last frost should have passed.
For the record we are currently in Week 15
The Gardener's World website isn't actually part of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ but of the magazine publishers who use '´óÏó´«Ã½' under licence.
Yes, I can see that the GW site is separate from the ´óÏó´«Ã½, but since the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is closing this one down, and official pointer would have been welcome.
Anyway, I am quite cheered now that I have had a look at that forum. I think it should be a reasonable substitute, and I have signed up there under the name Green Magpie. See you there!

Yes I too have registered on the GW site. They have some good offers on plants, and another plus is that they send you an email when someone replies to your post.

Hi, Shaun,
Where ever you are it's probably a tab bit early to start planting out just yet, however tempting.
We are still getting frost here in the NW, it can be biting cold in the morning, try to wait a few more weeks.
Alot of posters are joining the GW site.
Hadn't realised but I've been going there for a couple of years since I started buying the mag although up until now never posted on the site, they send an e-mail every few weeks telling you of offers etc... the mags a good read and tips on site helpful. I think you need to subscribe to the mag to get the freebies which usually entail a P & P cost of £4.99 so prehaps not quite free.
I've yet to dip my toe in the water and post.
