On it, is a virtual 'remembrance wall',Ìý where visitors uploadrf their photos, memories, and stories of previous generations who were involved in the war. The aim of this was to personalise and vividly 'bring alive' the events of WWI through the artefacts and recollections of individuals, and a long queue of people queued to upload their own information and images. Nearly 3,000 people of all ages too part. They were able to walk through trenches, see WWI tanks, take part in public drill sessions, listen to wartime music and hear talks - and even take part in a special Great War edition of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ programme Antiques Roadshow. Children's Remembrance garden Children planted crosses of 'adopted' WWI soldiers into the turf of an indoor memorial garden. And the day ended with a closing ceremony: an 'in role' end-of-war monologue by an actor dressed as a soldier followed by the playing by a Royal Tank Corps bugler of The Last Post – many were moved to shed a tear. The words of one visitor summed up the huge success of the day. He said: "I set off at 4am this morning from Lancashire to come here today, and I won't get home until very late tonight.
