"The Taming of the Shrew: The Big Day"

By East Norfolk Sixth Form College, teacher Sonia Marshall

Featuring Imogen as Bianca, Mikaela as Kat, Tokelo as Pete, and Mike as Henry.

Watch "The Taming of the Shrew: The Big Day"

About this film

In English, students were studying The Taming of the Shrew, and in Media they have to produce a video, so the two activities merged perfectly for the 60 Second Challenge. We did three 60 second pieces to cover the whole play and get all 17 students involved. This is part two, The Big Day, where Kat regrets ever agreeing to marry Pete.

I loved it. Even my hamster jumped up in his wheel.

The speech could of been louder and clearer but the scene and the acting was really good especially the boy wearing that dress.

Play
The dress looks like a marshmallow.

Fred Perry
What was he wearing!!! A bit of a quiet wedding, I can't understand what one of the ladz is saying!

I thought this was v. funny, especially the lad wearing the dress and the lass wearing the wedding dress, I think you looked like white candyfloss lol!!!!

Bob Jakason
I found the second scene more exciting and I felt quite sorry for the girl, it brought tears to my eyes.

Nicola Boyes
Erm, what can I say?! It was an "Interesting" wedding dress...it would have being funnier if the fall was more dramatic! More understanding than the 1st part!

I liked this, the dress was lovely! However, I still found it hard to understand, but I guess seen as though I've never read the play this is plausible!

Dave
Easy to realise plot that was put across well.

I haven't seen taming of the shrew but this scene was very good.

Simon Dingwall
Much more profesional, and all round better than the last one. Great scene selection. 9/10.

Dominic Smith
I thought that this was better than the first scene, I thought that the costumes were great, and it was a bit more serious and better acting.

Rory Coe
Quite good but didn't understand how it followed on.

Steffi Mustard
I don't understand why the boy is wearing a dress! However, it was better than the first scene.

Josh Bywater
Good scene and camera work but rubbish acting.
