Year 6 studied A Midsummer Night's Dream as their drama and literacy topic. We explored the language, characters and themes in the play through drama and music. Making our movie was the final part of the project. We chose the play within a play because it was funny - and because we enjoy overacting!
Some groups chose to make their film a silent movie. The melodrama of the piece certainly suits this type of presentation. Others used lines from the play. A fun time was had by all. Even Bottom himself would have been proud of our overacting.
