Juliet Holton is a star in the making, she has several exhibitions at numerous galleries including Ipswich, Burnham, Oxford, Winchester, Southend and Covent Garden. She spent seven years at Greensward College, Hockley, before getting her placement at Norwich School of Art and Design where she obtained a Fine Art Degree in 2007. In September this year she starts her masters fine art degree. Juliet's work is influenced by Japan Whilst at Norwich she got the opportunity to go to Japan to study Japanese painting: "I was heavily influenced by Japan's vibrancy that lies within their culture," she says. "Since then I have been trying to demonstrate the glorification of paint. This is now my main focus and I am constantly introducing new materials to discover new effects.听 "This makes the work exciting to produce as I have no direct plan of how the work will result."
Juliet has an unconventional way of creating her paintings; she paints with the canvas on the floor using gloss, oil, glue and spray paint which is producing some stunning work.听 She says she has been hugely influenced by contemporary artists Jackson Pollack and Less Krasner and her work has proved very popular in Convent Garden where she has a permanent exhibition.
