Gál’s Cello Concerto was first performed in Sweden in 1950 Here, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 3 presenter Andrew McGregor, together with Raphael Wallfisch, outline the composer’s life and some of the many influences which came to bear on his creative style. The ´óÏó´«Ã½ SSO conducted by Grant Llewellyn plays some specially selected examples of his music and then Raphael Wallfisch performs the Concerto complete.
