大象传媒 National Orchestra of Wales and Principal Guest Conductor Xian Zhang present an afternoon of musical stories and romance.
Harpist Catrin Finch is reunited with the Orchestra following their epic three week South American adventure in 2015; like in all good stories there was a fateful twist and a planned performance of Gliere鈥檚 sparkling Harp Concerto had to be cancelled, so we create a happy ending by performing the missing work.
The concerto is book-ended by music by the great musical storyteller and masterful composer of ballet music, Tchaikovsky. Opening with the overture from his ballet score for Romeo & Juliet, and concluding with the symphonic interpretation of the tale of Francesca da Rimini and his Sleeping Beauty Suite, which contains some of his most tuneful and vivid melodies.
