About This Event
Join leading Napoleon expert, historian Andrew Roberts and actor Samuel West as they explore the influence of the figure of Napoleon on his contemporary novelists and poets. The programme, which will feature readings from the period and discussion, will be broadcast in advance of the evening’s performance of Beethoven’s third symphony, known as the ‘Eroica’ Symphony, which the composer originally dedicated to Napoleon believing he embodied the democratic ideals of the French Revolution.
