Mon 13 May 2013 The Nerve Centre
Often experimental, always engaging

Belfast-based quartet Girls Names play The Nerve Centre gig on the back of the release of their second album The New Life in February. After forming in 2009, initially as a two piece group, they released their debut LP in 2011 with Dead To Me receiving plenty of praise from the critics of NME, Pitchfork and many more.

A listen to The New Life and you鈥檒l be taken in by a sound which is compelling, unsettling and, above all, daring complete with varied instrumentation, often hypnotic grooves and lo-fi vocals. As well as Girls Names, many of the band鈥檚 members are involved in side projects in and around Belfast only adding to their passion for experimentation.
