A gang of Londoners in cardigans, Hot Chip have redefined electronic music with their mash of rave, folk and rock. Five albums in, their passion for filling dance floors with addictive, eclectic noises and bizarre lyrics about monkeys and miniature cymbals show no signs of abating. On top of that, their ability to create brilliantly surreal videos – two of which have been directed by comedian Peter Serafinowicz – add to their appeal as the eccentric older brothers of pop.
