Join Hertfordshire Chorus, Musical Director David Temple, the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra and special guest performers Samuel West and Ben Johnson for a concert marking the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Bliss鈥檚 choral symphony for chorus, orchestra and narrator, in this performance spoken by actor Samuel West, was composed as a tribute to his brother and all those who died in the First World War. Tenor Ben Johnson sings Britten鈥檚 setting of WH Auden, composed to honour British casualties in the Spanish Civil War, while Gurney鈥檚 orchestral A Gloucestershire Rhapsody contrasts the composer鈥檚 experiences of the Flanders trenches and the beautiful landscape of his homeland.
