"All bands have a moment; it can be a great gig, a memorable radio session, a wonderful single or devastating cover. For Twin Atlantic, it must be hard to top the moment when their song Free soundtracked Felix Baumgartner’s freefall from the stratosphere in 2012. It’s very much the anthem of the band, the fan favourite and reward for years of hard work trying to get a loud band together in Glasgow with little money, painstakingly gathering a fanbase and hard touring with Biffy Clyro, Blink 182 and Thirty Seconds to Mars.
After that, the band have only gathered momentum. Their latest album Great Divide got to No.6 in the albums charts last August, having been trailed by the Top 20 single Heart and Soul - a R hottest record in the world - and they recently played their biggest gig so far at the SSE Hydro arena in Glasgow. So there’s no longer any need for Felix to take their songs to giddy heights, when they’re more than capable of getting there on their own."
