About This Event
Tchaikovsky鈥檚 letters to his nephew, to whom Path茅tique Symphony is dedicated, and to his brother Modest are fascinating insights into the composer鈥檚 life and work. Though his sexuality has, in particular, long been a topic of speculation, it is only recently that many of these previously suppressed letters have come to light.
Shahidha Bari will presents an exploration from the most intimate, witty and revelatory ones, with a selection of readings by actor Tom Stuart. They are joined by composer Rolf Hind, who will discuss why the letters are so important in our understanding of Tchaikovsky and his legacy.
Edited version broadcast on 大象传媒 Radio 3 during tonight鈥檚 interval
