Josep Pons conducts the 大象传媒 Singers and 大象传媒 Symphony Orchestra in the world premiere of Charlotte Seither鈥檚 Language of Leaving. Frank Peter Zimmermann plays Brahms鈥檚 Violin Concerto in a concert that contrasts Stravinsky鈥檚 ballet Petrushka with a cappella motets.

About this event

German composer Charlotte Seither adapts the words of the 17th-century poet Francesco de Lemene in a new work for the 大象传媒 Singers and the 大象传媒 Symphony Orchestra, using voices and syllables as spots of 鈥榟uman colour鈥�.

Josep Pons conducts this world premiere alongside the 1947 version of Stravinsky鈥檚 Petrushka, the a cappella motets Ave Maria and Pater noster, and the four-minute novelty Scherzo 脿 la russe, written in Hollywood for the bandleader Paul Whiteman. Frank Peter Zimmermann is the soloist in Brahms鈥檚 much-loved Violin Concerto.
