Actors Emma Fielding, Damian Lynch and Samuel West star in a concert that charts the emotional world of Shakespeare through performances of excerpts from his poetry and plays, and soundtracks to cinematic adaptations of his greatest works.
Humour, magic, tragedy, introspection and love are all represented in the concert, which includes Patrick Doyle鈥檚 life-affirming score to Kenneth Branagh鈥檚 Much Ado About Nothing and Shaun Davey鈥檚 soundtrack for Trevor Nunn鈥檚 Twelfth Night.
Plus Christopher Palmer鈥檚 arrangement of Walton鈥檚 evocative music for Laurence Olivier鈥檚 Hamlet; Elliot Goldenthal鈥檚 powerful finale from Titus, the film adaptation of Shakespeare鈥檚 bloodiest play; and Michael Nyman鈥檚 neo-Baroque minimalist score for Prospero鈥檚 Books, based on The Tempest.
The concert concludes with a suite from Stephen Warbeck鈥檚 Academy Award-winning soundtrack to Shakespeare in Love.
