Concert Information

Join Diane Louise Jordan at Watford Colesseum for a night of music, poetry and reflection to mark Good Friday, the day that Jesus died.

Mozart’s Requiem provides the musical backbone for the evening as the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra and the Bach Choir, conducted by David Hill, perform excerpts from this magnificent and popular piece, specially selected to reflect on the key events in the narrative.

The story of Good Friday will be told in a completely new way by the artist and designer, Siku, the illustrator behind the Manga Bible, Judge Dredd and 2000AD comics. In a specially written narrative, Siku will retell the story of the last hours of Jesus’ life, bringing out the drama and spectacle in a way that is accessible to a wide and varied audience.

Special guest stars, including Geraldine Latty, will perform some of the most moving music of all time. ´óÏó´«Ã½ Young Musician of the Year, Sheku Kanneh-Mason will play beautiful cello pieces by Fauré and Casals and the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year 2016, Florence Cain and Edward Hyde will unite their stunning voices to perform John Ireland’s It is a thing most wonderful, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Pie Jesu and César Frank’s Panis Angelicus.

Admission to this recording is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
