Concert Information
Linton Stephens presents a live concert broadcast from the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Philharmonic and friends from the orchestra’s MediaCityUK home in Salford.
The concert offers an opportunity to discover music by Nathaniel Dett, Margaret Bonds, Julia Perry, Ali Osman, Kikuko Kanai and Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. ´óÏó´«Ã½ New Generation Artist Kunal Lahiry is soloist in Perry’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and AHRC Composer Champion Samantha Ege will present solo piano works by Nathaniel Dett and Margaret Bonds. The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Philharmonic is conducted by Ben Gernon.
This concert is part of a collaboration between ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 3 and UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) which aims to celebrate and give recognition to classical composers from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
