Celtic Impressions - Aberystwyth
An evening of music from different parts of the UK and Ireland. Welsh composer Mathias wrote his Dance Overture for the 1962 National Eisteddfod in Llanelli – with plenty of Latin- American rhythms thrown in amongst the lively melodies.
Irish composer Stanford wrote his beautiful Irish Rhapsodies as a love-letter to his homeland; whereas Mendelssohn wrote his Scottish Symphony whilst travelling through Scotland, inspired by the picturesque landscapes.
