About This Event
Singer Melanie Pappenheim, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Singers Ed Price and Margaret Cameron and members of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Proms Youth Choir Academy perform a brand new piece of music, created collaboratively by the group and taking inspiration from Sir Harrison Birtwistle’s ‘The Moth Requiem’ as featured in the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Singers concert later this evening.
The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Proms Youth Choir Academy, currently in its pilot year and based in London, is a new scheme that aims to discover new voices from all musical backgrounds and develop them in a choral setting. The Academy offers young people the chance to develop their voice, explore classical choral singing and technique, whilst working alongside professional classical singers in a friendly, supportive and fun-filled environment. Earlier this year the Academy joined other singers from the Proms Youth Choir to perform John Adams’ Harmonium in the First Night of the Proms.
