For Aldeburgh Festival, the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Philharmonic and chief conductor John StorgÃ¥rds join violinist Simone Lamsma alongside Festival featured artist Cassandra Miller with a programme including classic works by Britten and Sibelius.
Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma is respected by critics, peers and audiences as one of classical music’s most striking and captivating musical personalities. She makes her Aldeburgh Festival debut as the soloist in Britten’s Violin Concerto in the first of two Aldeburgh Festival concerts by the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Philharmonic.
The programme includes Finnish conductor John Storgårds’ interpretation of Sibelius’ famous Symphony No.5 as well as the world premiere of a fantastically colourful orchestration of de Falla’s Fantasia baetica by Francisco Coll, an alumnus of the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme.
