With sixth album Ghost Stories released just before their star turn in Glasgow, expect shivers down your spine as Coldplay headline this year's Big Weekend.
Achieving worldwide fame after single Yellow in 2000, they have gone on to win eight BRIT awards, seven Grammy's and become as well known for their charitable endeavours with organisations such as Sport Relief as they have for their moody, meditative rock.
Single Magic got its first play on Grimmy, and was followed up with track Midnight which contains the hypnotic touch of dance producer Jon Hopkins.
Drummer Will Champion said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have been asked to play Radio 1's Big Weekend. Playing in Glasgow is always been so much fun and Radio 1 have always been wonderful to us so it couldn't really be any better!"
If previous live shows - which have included massive yellow orbs, floods of paper butterflies, glowing wristbands and stunning cinematography - are anything to go by, we are promised a spectacular return to the Big Weekend Main stage for Will, Chris, Jonny and Guy.
