Each year we invite some of the most successful acts to have started their music career through ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing to come back and re-visit our stages at the UK’s biggest festivals. One of our returning artists at the Radio 1 Big Weekend is Saint Raymond.
It is very likely that you’ve heard Saint Raymond, better known as 19-year-old Nottingham lad Callum Burrows, in recent months. Since supporting Gabrielle Aplin, also a ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing success story, on her European tour, this young singer went on to perform at Reading & Leeds Festival, supported Haim on some dates of their UK tour and was Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in March.
He’s been picking up some high-profile fans along the way too, with Example taking to Twitter to declare his interest in writing with the star – and judging from Callum’s Facebook page, the pair have already been hitting the studio together.
But it doesn’t stop there! Callum has a jam-packed summer ahead; after Big Weekend, the singer-songwriter will be taking in festival after festival and then occupying a support slot on Ed Sheeran’s UK, Ireland and European Arena tour. Wow.
