In what would have been his 80th birthday year, join us in applauding a ground-breaking composer whose innovation and spirit of collaboration fused together vastly different genres to create joyous and celebratory music.

Alongside music by the man himself, we perform a world premiere by electronic musician and composer Scanner, drawing out the majestic and exploratory nature of Bedford’s compositions.

The evening comes to a finale with David Bedford’s orchestral arrangement of Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, featuring guitarist Steve Hillage who took part in the original performance.

Don't miss the pre-concert performance in the foyer at 7pm of Bedford's Balloon Music 1, directed by Duncan Chapman and supported by Sound and Music.
