Martyn Brabbins, 大象传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Edinburgh Festival Chorus join forces to perform Vaughan Williams鈥檚 mighty A Sea Symphony and celebrate Scottish composer Thea Musgrave.
Vaughan Williams鈥檚 epic paean to the power and spirituality of the sea brings together a huge ensemble for one of his most opulent, captivating creations. Setting mystical verse by Walt Whitman, it鈥檚 both a celebration of the might of the ocean, and a mystical glimpse into the infinite.
Here we also celebrate the 90th birthday of one of Scotland鈥檚 most internationally renowned composers, Thea Musgrave, with her remarkable Turbulent Landscapes, a powerful musical journey through six vivid land and seascapes by J. M. W. Turner.
