Back in 2010, a then-unknown group called Films recorded their debut session for 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq. Just two years, later the band – now known as Alt-J - walked on stage to collect the 2012 Mercury Music Prize, marking them out as one of Britain’s most talented bands. Even if you haven’t heard their debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’ you’ll know tunes like ‘Tesselate’, ‘Something Good’ and ‘Breezeblocks’ from their ubiquity across TV, online and - of course - 6 Music. As the band prepare to return to the studio to start writing the follow up, their headline set on the 6 Music Latitude Stage promises to be a triumphant celebration of the last 24 months.
