Unlikely as it may seem, the "Tank Girl" DVD is well up there as a candidate for showing off your home cinema set up.
While the film's acting and action may be an acquired taste, clearly some effort went into the art design and it really shows through on this crystal clear transfer. The animation inserts are particularly sharp and vibrant.
The 5.1 sound mix is an incredibly busy effort. Rear surround speakers get a real work out, especially during the numerous battle scenes. The soundtrack to the movie will certainly please some, with tracks from L7, Bj枚rk, Hole, Bush, Portishead, Belly and Ice-T all in 5.1 bass ridden splendour.
Apart from a trailer, there are no extra features, but the transfer of the movie is an absolute winner. Why other, more deserving movies can't get this treatment is a mystery.
