Crostini recipes
If you're looking for easy party food - crostini is your best bet. Dress it up with caviar or wild mushrooms or go super simple with chopped tomato and mint or basil. We've said it before, but everything tastes better on toast.
These crostini would make a delicious vegetarian start to a dinner party - try to use a mixture of wild and cultivated mushrooms if you can.

Preparation
Stale (reduced price) baguettes are perfect for crostini. Slice them on a slight angle into 1.5cm/ 1/2 in slices. Brush the breads with olive oil and bake in a 200C/180C (Fan)/Gas 6 oven for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp. Allow to cool on a rack completely before topping.
