A great combination of guacamole and hummus with a spike of hot Tabasco - scoop up with toasted pitta bread.

Ingredients

  • avocado: 1 ripe avocado, cut in half, skin and stone removed
  • chickpeas: 400g tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • garlic: 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • lemons: 1–2 lemons, juice only
  • Tabasco: ½ tsp Tabasco sauce
  • cumin: ½ tsp ground cumin
  • salt: sea salt, to taste
  • pitta breads: 6 ready-made pitta breads, to serve

Method

  1. Blend all of the ingredients in a food processor until smooth.

  2. Transfer the avocado hummus to a bowl and cover with cling film. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour.

  3. Serve in bowls with pitta breads.
