Horseradish sauce
Homemade horseradish sauce from scratch is a revelation. Not only is it ridiculously easy to make, but fresh grated horseradish packs a far greater punch than any ready-made bottled variety. Tweak the recipe to meet your personal standards of eye-watering pungency.
Ingredients
- 15g/½oz finely grated horseradish
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- pinch of English mustard powder
- pinch of caster sugar
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 150ml/5fl oz double cream
Method
In a small bowl, mix with all the other ingredients. Allow to stand in the fridge for half an hour before serving so the flavours can mingle.
