Bearded irises flower in early summer, providing a delightful display of blooms that add a touch of elegance to any border. 'Rosette Wine' produces bold reddish coloured flowers that are the perfect complement shrubs with maroon foliage. After three years or so, clumps of bearded iris start to die out in the middle so dig the rhizomes up 4-6 weeks after flowering, and replant strong healthy divisions from round the edge. To ensure you get a good display of flower make sure the rhizomes are planted level with the soil surface where they can be baked by the sun.
